frame dissassemble reassemble
So I am about disassemble my frame to send to sand blast gad a quick question. Wgen I go ti reassemble it would I use geade 8 blots on the ro

do your self a huge favor and only pull the rivits you absolutly have too. you'll be ahead of the game if you do this and yes grade 8 bolts

Ok thanks. Why wouldn't you want to pull all of them. I understand it might be a pain when you go about putting it back together after either paint or powder coat

A better question, is why would you consider disassembling the frame? GM chose rivets over bolts because they WON'T come loose. Rivets are a better choice for a frame, and you don't gain anything by disassembling the frame IMO. Just have it blasted then clean and coat with your protective coating of choice.

True I just really wanted to make sure all the nooks and crainys were clean and clear of tge crap from tge last 40+ years of crud

But it does make more since with rivits and I don't have money to spend for the ritit gun press they use.

Here's mine after sandblast. It really gets into every nook and I don't think you should have a problem leaving it assembled. On the others hand I understand your concern and lmc sells a complete grade 8 bolt kit to replace all frame rivets
