Using it for real work
I was going thru some of the shop and house construction pictures looking for a photo a wall we are attaching some stuff to and found this picture of the truck when we were framing the shop. I had most of the lumber delivered but it still hauled it fair share of trash and additional supplies. In my build thread I whine about how beat up the back of the cab was.
Anyway, anyone else have pics of their truck being used for real work??

I use my truck to haul all kinds of stuff. A ton and a half of concrete mix did not seem to phase it. In fact, it seemed to ride better.

I don't think I have any photos but pre-restoration I used mine to travel to various ranches around SE Montana to service their equipment. Used to be lotsa parts in the bed plus a couple of toolboxes as well. Nowadays there are a couple of portable lawn chairs for cruise nights.

I swapped out one of my a/c units just before I got my truck. When I got it the first thing I did was haul the old a/c unit to the scrap yard. This truck was not safe and I shouldn't have been driving it. This was two and a half years ago, and I tore it apart after this trip and only recently got it back on the road.

In the fall, just before i put it away for the winter (They use salt on the roads up here), i needed to get some supplies for a small basement reno i was doing.
While i was loading up at the store, I got the most interesting looks! |

truk has seen it's last days of hauling, but it did it's fair share of hauling back in the day.
like backing into the hopper at the gravel pit where a quick push of open-close dropped a ton of gravel or sand into the bed from 20 feet up. or hauling so much rock in the back that you'd need to let off the gas to steer around corners no pics of it's working days, we were broke, photos were expensive and delegated to family orientated shots

I love that a 4x8 sheet of plywood sits nice and flat in the bed of these trucks.

I love the idea of this thread! Though I haven't yet used it for too much real work, I have spent a lot of time and effort to avoid wheel tubs, specifically so plywood/drywall will lie flat.

I don't have pictures but, while paying for my lumber inside the store, some guy was taking a bunch after I had loaded it up. He waited 10 minutes for me to come out to let me know how cool it was that I still use my truck as trucks!

I do have another one..but i feared being criticized, but we're all friends here .
The bike was my brother in laws, and there is astory there...but I'll leave that for another day. I do use it to haul my dirtbike though. |

I used mine to pick up the new range when we remodeled the kitchen last year. I don't think the truck was even built the last time anyone did work in the kitchen!! Hopefully the pic works. . .
but of course it didn't. Go to the link in my sig, click on the truck - first pic. I hate technology, that's why I like the old stuff. |

if trailers count then.......
This is from the first time I had it together enough to tow. I did have 6k lbs of cement in the bed and a trailer full of lumber but I did not get a pic of it.

Buggy, you truck is awesome and has fueled several conversations at our dinner table regarding the sale of our newer dually and a TF ton and a half build. Please don't ever post it for sale as I would be forced to purchase it and then live in it.

Don't worry......I'm not selling it. Someone this summer while we were camping wanted it really bad. By the end of the weekend they had offered enough to get a brand new dually and camper.....I just said no

With the old worn stock 250, truck 4sp and 3:08 s it was ok on flat ground. Max speed 55 until you hit a hill and I became "that guy" pulling a trailer. I haven't pulled it with the new set up yet, but know it will be MUCH better.
