Here is an update on the '34 Ford. I posted about it when I fist got it back in 2008 but haven't had a chance to work on it until now.. I decided to just start a new thread on it.

First three pictures are of the car when I got it home.

Next ones are where I'm rebuilding the front axle and components. #1 is reaming the new bushings in the front spindles, #2 is the axle boss a where the king pin & spindle go, #3 is the spindle installed, and #4 & #5 are overall pictures of the assembly of the shock brackets and hairpin radius rods.

The next two are pictures of the 377 Stroker engine I installed which is coupled to a '91 Jeep 2wd, 5 speed manual transmission.

I am now working on installing the clutch and brake pedal assembly and I pretty much have to custom make the whole thing. I am going to try and use a cable actuated clutch release so I have to figure out where I want the the mounting brackets on the frame for it.

Once I get everything figured out and built I will have to blow the whole car back apart and get all the parts and pieces ready to paint. I can't wait to drive this one for the first time. It's gonna be a hoot....

Thanks Clyde. I think it was a complete driving car at one time. The husband of the gal I got it from was in the process of updating it when he passed away.

That depends on how you define old... I have 12 cars & trucks at this time in the 1929-1970 era. Four of them are not running and of those four I am currently working on three, the '36 Ford, the '34 Ford, and the '70 short fleet. Oh, and I forgot the '39 John Deere "A" tractor. My youngest daughter and her husband are working on that with me because they will end up with it.

Knowing how you put stuff together I know this is going to be a sweet ride. Personally I like the fenders. And please get a set of valve covers like on your 36, or maybe just some early Edelbrocks.

For now it will be fenderless. I wouldn't put anything but steel on it and it would run around 2 grand for the fenders, brackets, running boards & misc.

I like fenders too but I can't justify the price of steel right now.

Come on Mark, what's wrong with the valve covers they're old school aren't they???..

.. I have the oval air cleaner to match, does that help?? Let's see, I have a couple of pair of old style finned aluminum (round end and square end), a pair of script steel ones, and I might be able to dig up another set of Corvettes around here... We'll see.

I assumed you had the fenders already. So yeah that would be a huge expense. I think I have a set of the Corvette ones, I just cant remember if they are the staggered or straights.

Making a little progress on the coupe. I got the clutch and brake pedal assembly finished, and trimmed out the front floorboards and installed the replacements that came with the car. I need to do more spot welding and use some sealer on the joints but it is looking pretty good. Next will be making a bracket and installing the master cylinder.

Wow, hard to believe I haven't updated this since '13. I have been working on it off & on but have had some other projects push it to the back burner. I have the driveline all in and bolted up, fuel tank in, new fuel line in and all connected, master cylinder installed and rear brakes rebuilt and ready to put fluid in, radiator repaired and installed and system filled with coolant, and steering finished up. It starts and runs but I haven't had it out of the shop since finishing the stuff listed above, and probably won't get it out until Spring. The picture below was taken last Fall when I took it to a friend of mines shop to weld the tubular front engine mount in place. My welder wasn't up to the task....
