vibration in steering since auto-x

OK, back in September, I autocrossed my truck in the ASCS RTTH8 event. All things considered, the truck didn't do that great. I think most of it was due to insufficient driver mods. My suspension is pretty much stock other than the drop springs, spindles and KYB shocks.

Ever since the autocross event, my truck has had a vibration that I can feel while turning the wheel. At first, I thought maybe I had some air in the lines because I mostly noticed it when turning while still and also after I changed the power steering pump last month.

I mostly also noticed it when only turning right for a while. The wife and I took it for a drive yesterday afternoon since it was nice here. I noticed the vibration in any turning situation, and at any speed.

I've checked everything in the front suspension(tie rods, ball joints, hubs. and it all seems to still be tight. Any ideas?

how hard did you auto-x it?

Sounds like to may have worn your tires uneven from all the hard turning.

check your tires...

That's just it. I didn't autocross it very hard at all. I have somewhat hard tires(420 TW) and even after several runs they never showed any signs of wear.

My first thought too. "Only when turning" is a pretty good clue.

Might jack up one wheel at a time, then grab at the top and bottom of the tire and try to wobble it on the spindle to check for play. I would say the LF is the culprit if it was only when turning to the right when it started.

I've done that and everything seems tight. I may take it to someone that knows what they're doing.

Yeah, this is true. I talked to a guy last night, and he said the power steering pump may be bad. He said it may be cavitating. It is a rebuilt unit, and I think it was rebuilt by A1 Cardone, which is notorious for not rebuilding stuff right.
