Throttle pedal and cable? AD

I am looking for successful stories about aftermarket throttle pedals. I would really like to stay away from expensive lokars. The cheapo one I have now does not have enough travel.

I have used:
Lokar midnight series floor mount $129
Cheepo ebay firewall mount spoon style $49.95
Wrecking yard firewall mount 85 k10 $20.00 with cable and firewall bracket I had to cut off

They range from zero fab with best quality/looks , to used with some fab work and yhou end up with a working throttle, but doesnt look as cool.

Re: Throttle pedal and cable? AD

I can't remember what I used but the cable and pedal came out of a car I junked out and saved those from. The pedal did get modified some though. At the time I wasn't too worried too much about how it looked but how it worked and that it didn't cost me anything. There are no doubt better ones out there.

In the 80's when I was teaching Auto Mechanics at the local High school I had a lot of people give me cars that we pulled the engines out of for the kids to rebuild during the engine rebuilding section of the class and those usually donated a few pieces to the hot rod parts stash before I had the wrecking yard haul them off. That was before scrap was worth much and you had to beg a wrecking yard to haul something away.

Ozzie
I used a junk yard model...I think it came from a early eighties Chevy truck. Pedal, mount, cable and cable bracket. I was amazed how easily it fit. Been driving it for a year now. $5 I think.

Dan, i'd love to see a shot of that setup if youve got one. My donor 88 burb is ripe for the plucking!
