You Need help finding parts? Pt 2
If anyone here has received parts from me, post it here and let others know what I am doing. The reason for this is I have had emails from some members who are not sure of what I am doing and thinking I am running a "take the money and run" scam. I would really appreciate feedback on this.
Thanks guys Tommy Davis Little Rock,AR

I am very glad that Tommy has offered to help! I bought a part from him and it was cheaper than if I bought it in my own salvage yards locally. He got the part here quick and it was in really good shape.
So, any of you nay-sayers need to just cool-off and actually let somebody help when they offer instead of worrying that somebody is trying to run a scam. Tommy in not trying to scam anyone.

Thank you. I really needed that pickup. After I opened that email and read it. I was about to call it quits. Thanks again for picking me back up.

Better her than Slick Willy. But, I guess she's just as bad. We had to kick them out of the state. They were screwing us up. Then they go to Washington and screw everyone else up. We love to share down here.

To everyone reading, Tommy is the man!!! Come on guys, he has the name of Tom. You cant go wrong there!
But seriously, he sent the part to me before I even shipped out the money order because he belived me when I said it would be going out. I wasent expecting that! He charged $5 for the part that goes for $30+ on ebay all day long.He said shipping was either $2 for normal or $4 for priority. I told him hes getting a $10 money order. he could decide if he wanted to spend the extra on fast shipping or keep a few bucks for the gas he used going to the junkyard getting everyone on the board parts. People like him are the reason I still have faith our country has decent people left in it!

Who are the people doubting? I should be getting my parts this week too. Can't people trust anymore? I'll try at least once for a small item. Once confidence is built I'll go for the big items.
Tommy sent me the wrong item due to it's location but he is correcting the problem by sending me the correct passenger side item. The correction at his expense too. I just sent a few extra bucks since I have been looking for a filler neck holder for a while. It's something I can't buy in a catalogue. Only originals are available in boneyards. Those doubters are probably from another forum. The 73-87 truck crowd is pretty laid back and easy going. |

I don't exactly sell anything. I have a lot of time on my hands so I help others look for parts they they need. I am their "extra eyes" out there. They send me what they are looking for and I go to some of the salvage yards around here to look for it. If they have it, I will either take pics and email them along with the price the salvage wants for it. Then I give them the price to ship it to them. Or, if it is cheap enough, I will go ahead and purchase the item, bring it to my house, send pics and wait on payment. I just do this as a hobby. For example, some were looking for shift indicators, some certain pieces of chrome trim. One was a cargo light complete, etc.

Attention anyone doubting and crap mailers:
So if your doubting, just find your own parts yourself, and knock off the crap mail to Tommy, you are evidently a useless person.
I got my parts in a week from Tommy, that I had been looking for almost two months. I sent Tommy 25.00 bucks before he even went on the hunt, I told him to go have lunch and buy gas. He wrote back telling me, he had money left over because lunch didn't cost much, and would put it towards the purchases I made. >It was worth it to me in gas and staying out of 115 degree heat to let Tommy go on a treasure hunt. Thanks for the words. I will be back hunting hopefully by saturday or monday. If you recall my napa posts on my heads, well the shop has had my truck since yesterday putting on the new heads they got from them. Why it is going to take 3 days to get my suburban back, I don't know. But it is a napa authorized shop and napa is paying for the heads and labor.

A Tommy Testimonial
Had Tommy search for a like new cargo light assembly for me and within a couple days he found a real nice one from a 85 GMC, emailed me a picture or two and after a couple days later he had pulled the wiring harness, removed the switch, and removed the light assembly. That is some labor. I gave him the green light it's here at my door. Wow! Great price, I couldn't have done better, even on Ebay! What service! I think Tommy is part hound dog (just joking)
We all should appreciate what Tommy is doing. It's a win-win situation. We are keeping Tommy busy (and out of his wife's personal space) while he is temporarily disabled and from working his regular job and we are getting assistance in finding those hard to find parts without having to hunt & hunt & hunt through junk yards and browsing endlessly through ebay. Great work, Tommy!

Mitch,
Glad I could help. Wife says keep up the good work guys She knows I wish I could go back to work, but I have to go thru rehab testing first. To see what I can do with this hand. She works from 4am to about 3 or 4 pm and I get bored sitting at home. If anyone needs help let me know, I know I have a "hunt for" list and some ppl haven't heard from me, I haven't forgotten you, I carry a 2 page printout to the yards each time and I go looking. I am still trying to find them. Some are easier than others. Tommy

1.)need just the left side piece of plastic trim that runs down the windshield pillar from a silverado or Cheyenne. any 73- 87 will do. even blazers & burbs are the same on that one piece.
2.) any year quartz clock , used in 84- up . 3.) any decet trim from a 77-80 model door panels. DAVE

1) I have a 84 suburban and am not understanding this plastic trim that runs down windshield pillar. Email me about this. 2) I have a clock here, with wiring harness, chrome knob on it and 2 mounting screws. 3)Email me on what exactly this trim on the door panels is. I will be happy to look for these items for you. Tommy Davis
