ccp drop cross member question

Hi all looking for intel on this cross member from CCP: ( 6372LDL Drop Center Crossmember 1963-72)

from the pics it looks like the drop outs for the trailing arms are raised an inch or two compared to stock...just wondering if that has dramatically helped anyone with stock trailing arms and lowering 5 inches or so (not slammed) just wondering if its worth the money for me since im going more for hot rod stance and not to the ground, thanks for all feed back and good luck on the trucks, ciao!

The raised mount point of the CPP unit will help with the pinion angle.
Nice product.

But I would go with the Porterbuilt version also.

If you are on a budget you can make a set of spacers which will move your trailing arms back (depending on how thick you make them) and I just removed the trailing arm bracket from the crossmember and turned the bracket upside down then added the spacer (3" channel) between the crossmember and the bracket.........just took a little time and did not cost anything. Kieth

Yes, the Porterbuilt is nice because it does have multiple mounting locations for the trailing arms. It can also accept 3" exhaust through it, although tight, it can be done.

If have this cross member on my truck. It fits in great but your limited on the size of exhaust. I have 2.5" and it's close on fitting. CPP parts are nice and they fit good but there not fast on shipping. It took about 3 weeks to get my parts and there customer service is questionable. I wish I would have done a little more research and went with the Porter Built setup. Good luck.

Thanks for all the intel. It looks like porter built if I have excess cash. But im half tempted to try the old school trick of flipping and spacing the original cross member trailing arm mounts since I'm not slamming the truck. But for all those that haven't checked out porter built web site holy crap those guys make amazing products. I have been building cars since 94 and I have never seen such nice resto-mod parts for such reasonable prices. Need to start saving more money for this project I think
