1972 Bed Tool Box Trim and Hardware

--SOLD---I have a few parts that were worth saving on a 72 C10 bedside tool box. The door was junk. I have all 3 pieces of trim. I would think they are driver quality. The part that goes on the door has an area that looks like it is corroded. I tried to picture but the lighting was bad. The small trim that has the angle has some scuffs along the top. The wood grain is pretty good but not perfect either. The lock and lever that attaches to it is there but no key. The rod that attaches to the door to stop it when opening is there but has a rusted area that is pitted. I think it will work fine but will not look the best. The latch plunger, spring and housing is there. The spring seems good, the housing is good but the plunger is extremely ate away on the end. If you want more / better pictures, just let me know. Please post questions to the thread. ---SOLD---- $50.00 plus shipping for all of it.

Great buy Mike. The door molding with clips will clean-up and bring more than the whole package!

Re: 1972 Bed Tool Box Trim and Hardware

Hey thanks Dan. Been looking for this trim for my project 71 LONGHORN. I'll be buying new wood grain trim and buffing everything out, should look pretty decent when done. Mike.

Sorry but not going to make it to the post office today. I will have them shipped out tomorrow.

I also wanted to make sure you noticed the issue with the door trim I talked about. It is visable in the last picture of post 2 and the 3rd and 4th picture in post 3. It will be on the bottom and probably not noticable but wanted to make sure you did see it. Any issues just let me know. Thanks

Re: 1972 Bed Tool Box Trim and Hardware

I don't need everything posted in pics. I'm 100% sure if 67 is the same hardware as a 71-72, otherwise all I need is the hinges and cups that the tailgate go into on the box. Do you have any way of verifying that 67 is the same as 71? Thanks Mike.

I think they are all the same but I will ask someone and see if I can find out for sure. Ok Do you need these parts and the part with the arms that hold up the tailgate? Is that all you need?

Re: 1972 Bed Tool Box Trim and Hardware

Are the tool box "bins" hard to find, or is there a need for the fiberglass bin? I ask because there is one at my local pick a part and I would pull it for someone if it is needed. There is no hardware or door left, just the inner fiberglass bin.

Thanks,

John

Re: 1972 Bed Tool Box Trim and Hardware

Yes get the fiberglass box. It's part of the tool storage box assembly. Just make sure it's not broke, cracked any thing like that. Also see if you can get the metal cut out it's mounted though. Cut the whole opening out of the truck if you can, that makes it a lot easier to mount in any pickup. Keep us posted on this. Mike.

What I have found is that any of the special option items are worth saving but that does not always mean they are worth huge amounts of money. Some parts have a good value and some are just helping someone finish their project with that part that they can not find. Either way it is a win. I figure if you can get it at a cheap enough price then save it. If the price is higher then do a search on here to see what others have sold for and base your buying price on that. Good Luck and Happy Hunting.
