Wiring Issue
My truck died & i went to start it up again, turned the key and heard a click then nothing. I replaced the ignition switch and charged the battery, still nothing. No headlights or power to anything. The insulation around the end of my positive terminal wire is melted. Its been taking a few tries to crank it lately before it died completely. I'm thinking I blew a fusible link but any ideas on what it could be guys? the truck is in the mud a lot by the way, maybe that has something to do with the problem

The insulation on the wire is melted because it has probably frayed or corroded to the point that only part of the wire is carrying the load.
Cut off a few inches of that cable and put a new connector on or better yet buy a new cable.

Check your grounds for corrosion and tightness. (battery cables and straps to engine and frame)

There are several, but in the least there should be one from the firewall to the engine and another from the cab to the frame. I think they are all on the pass side. I just bought a full set from a vendor on the parts board. You can find them by searching for ground strap kits. They include instructions as to where they all gO.

Pull the starter and have it bench tested when you go after the new cables.

This happened to me about a month ago. Turned out to be the positive battery cable insulation had rubbed off and cable was shorting to frame.
