got another one

Went to local scrap yard the other day to get parts for my back and forth beater Honda when i see two 67-72 chevys out back. Well I recently sold my 71 gmc lwb and wasnt planning on buying another til I bought a house this spring. I couldn't get them out of my head though so I looked at them. 67 shortbed fleetside complete truck and other was gmc don't know what year. Well everytime I saw this:

I thought of this:

So I had to buy it. Got it home put some fresh fuel in it and it started ran kinda decent too. Well now I'm aware that I will be sinking tons of money into something my wife just can't understand lol. Oh and Honda is up for sale to finance truck. Just thougt I'd share
Oh yeah that gmc had factory buckets (someone beat me to and a v6) but he wanted too much and I couldn't get him to budge at all

Welcome from just down the road in Chattanooga! This is a great place to ask questions and get those parts you will be needing. Good luck, and... we love pictures!!!

Re: got another one

Here are some more pics. It's all that i have right now. Yesterday I got some tires put on so I can move it around. Hopefully it won't be raining Sunday and I can get all the brakes replaced. The truck is full of junk but as i was sorting through it I found original owners manual, protecto plate, receipts from payments when it was new, and it was bought new here in the town I live in

And here's the 71 gmc 3/4 ton I sold a couple months back

I know I paid too much for it seeing how it came from a scrap yard but I saw it on a Friday and couldnt get it out of my head, I couldn't even sleep. So I went back Saturday and the guy who runs the scrap yard said $800. At first I thought no way. I only paid 750 for that 71 gmc and it was running and driving (no reverse though). So I walked around the yard a little and looked it over again. He came out and said its got a clean clear title and I'm crushing it Monday if no one buys it (probably just trying to get me to buy it). I offered him 700 he said anything less than 800 he'd rather crush it. So he got his 800. He was kinda stubborn but I couldn't let it get crushed. He said that grey gmc be crushed Monday as well but as of.yesterday it was still there.

Re: got another one

I don't get it, he won't get $800 for the scrap metal out of it. Those pushy bastards have the classic car guys buy the gonads and they know it.

I would have bought it for $800 just to save it. Its a good buy! Now get more pics up.

Re: got another one

heck a halfway decent running mostly solid one is well worth the $800, muchless the fact that its a shortbox!
