New Steering Column- eBay Gold

Hit the jackpot today. I am in the process of swapping the 3 spd tranny for a 700r4 that I have had built. I was hating the idea of a non-stock looking floor shifter and I was having problems justifying the cost of an aftermarket column shift.

So a normally empty search on eBay turned out to be quite the gem.

The column is out of a 70 Chevy Van, has tilt and the right gear indicator.

Should bolt and plug right in. Can't wait!

JACKPOT!

Nice looking column.. The one thing that jumps out at me is that is for a 3 speed tranny. Will that work ok for your 700r4?

I don't mind, paid $295 with shipping. And yes, should bolt right in. Apparently the shafts from the vans were the same through 73. Plug should match up as well. I have a full Painless harness to put in so the plug is the least of my electrical concerns.

Re: New Steering Column- eBay Gold

I'm glad I found mine at Pick and Pull. I picked one up for $28 on 25% off day but this was about 5 years ago. I had to weld on two nuts to the bottom so it wouild bolt to the parking brake bracket. The van columns are pretty much to same up to 1980. The column in the picture is not in my truck anymore. I found a better one and replaced it. but pretty much in the same way.
