Stock interior?
I'm mainly interested in 69 red or shades of red stock interiors. I'm wondering if any have the maroon and pics. I'm also wondering if it's possible to have a two tone option, and to clarify I'm not talking about inserts. Of course any pictures of any stock combos would be great and appreciated. My bench seat seems to match the door panels, dash pad and visors and steering but the piping and butt portion are less of a maroon and more of a red. Could be sun but under the seat where the sun don't shine is clearly two tone.
Thanks in advance and cheers! Nim Posted via Mobile Device

My '69.
The seat upholstery is new. Everything else is original.

Re: Stock interior?
Thanks for the pics. Very nice.
I like the maroon red. I see your seat is all one color. I'm thinking maybe mine was monotone but the seat (butt and back area) might be a different type of vinyl and after 43 years has washed out. Still I think it looks good with orange. My door lock pulls and door crank escutcheons are also maroon so I'm kinda baffled. Shouldn't lock knobs be black? None the less Im having fun tracking down replacement stuff Thanks for the pics Keith. Cheers! Nim Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Stock interior?
Another similarity is the radio delete. And are your door panels covered?
I can't post pics as of yet but I'll get'em all up for the build thread unless someone is really itching to see my truck I can email pics. Any other pics? C'mon folks it's what's inside that counts! Lol Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Stock interior?
The door panels are the stock deluxe vinyl covered panels.
I bought a set of reproduction door panels also,... hoping they would be closer to the seat color,... but they are darker, like the original panels. I really prefer the "bright red" of the 1970 model trucks,... but it wouldn't be correct for a '69.

Re: Stock interior?
No they would match the trim color. Here is the card for 69 with the interior paint color codes. The Ditzler code 71756 is listed and should be correct for your 617 trim interior except forward of the dash pad, that is a different flat color.
Already posted a red interior clip from a brochure on another thread, more of which you can download here. http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/stati.../dirindex.html BTW You still owe me a SPID picture :-)

Re: Stock interior?
Too much stuff- that's exactly what my seat looks like and the point of my post. I wasn't sure but now I'm thinking there is a darker maroon creating a two tone 69 red stock and now I'm 99% sure it's stock. It may be age but I'm thinking that's the way they came. Your original and my original makes two unless the PO of you truck and the PO of my truck ordered the same year replacement from the same company - possible but not probable IMHO. Thank for the pic.
SSTim- thanks for the literature. I have come across it and I think I might have been the one you posted it for not long ago when I was trying to figure out the SPID code on this. However, regardless of the numbers it seems to me that a) over time this interior faded due to different vynils and/or b) they came stock two tone without a SPID indication. I'm guessing. At this point I am itching to see more original interior pics and comparing. Thanks to this site I am learning and that's a good thing. Cheers! Nim Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Stock interior?
Interesting vinyl color reversal from the 68 red interior.

Re: Stock interior?
Tim- wow! That's what was confusing me but I get it now. And thanks for those pics they really help a lot. In the 68 picks it looks like the two tone inserts (I call them that but really don't know what it's really called). What prompted this is I was hitting the seat bolts with pb blaster and vacuuming the mouse poop out to remove the bench. Got some pb on the cynic and wiped it and noticed two different colors. So I wipe the dust off the entire seat and I realize this looks stock. And there you have it the 69 red is actually two tone and AFAIK not SPID worthy. Now I'm debating wether or not I should put in the buddy bucket with the 69 corvette seats or just stay stock. I'm leaning stock now. Sorry so long winded but I feel like I des covered something by accident....it's like truck treasure! Lol
Cheers and thanks again! Nim Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Stock interior?
One more thing notice the difference between the 69 and 68 picks where the 69 bench is lighter all the way across (no insert). At first I thought who would order a truck with only six options (in my case) and go with this interior option instead of black, but now I'm thinking GM made quite a few orange/red trucks. Not rare in 69 and really not so rare now, with the exception being the red isn't repop'd.

Re: Stock interior?
If it helps or not, here is my SPID. And since the tilt column was added, the PO painted it the color it is. Pretty sure the seat cover was original.
Should also add the a/c outlets are black...

Re: Stock interior?
Looking at your seat cover and mine together tells me they are og. I surprised me really. Your SPID has about 20 more options than mine but the important one here I think is the 617 iirc. I really glad you posted your pic. It's good to know there are others out there and the numbers say a lot but not everything. What gets me is my door lock pulls (or knobs) are also maroon not black. And...my door escutcheons (the plastic between the door panel and door knob and window knob) are also maroon and like my steering wheel these are cast in that color which matches the seat, pad, visors etc.
I think what was causing a disconnect for me was looking at the edge of the seat seeing that darker red and then the visors which are lighter but match the seat part of the bench. Follow? now I just have to figure if I want to redo this bench or put in my 69 vette seats (same 69 red)? But that's another thread for later... Posted via Mobile Device
