Track Bar Problems

Hey Guys, I have a slight issue going on with my track bar. The truck is a 64, but the rear end has been switched by the PO to a 65 or later. I put 4" coil springs in the rear and might do 1" lowering blocks in the futre.

Here is the problem, the track bar is not straight from the frame mount to the mount on the axle. Should I relotate the fram mount? I have attached a couple pictures for you guys to see. The track bar I have is a 24" adjustable from CPP.

In the pics, you can see the angle of the bar is off by a couple of inches. Was the 65 and later frame mount in a different spot than the 64?

Thanks!

Re: Track Bar Problems

I had the same issue, I put a little bend in the bar, which made it harder to adjust and it still rubs the cover a little. If I had it to do over I would move the frame mount.

Re: Track Bar Problems

I too would just bend the bar enough to make the connection. Should be ok.

I tried that with the non-adjustbale I had and the problem was it raised the drivers side of the frame higher than the passenger side by about and inch. I am trying to get the frame as level as I can.

It sounds like the frame mount is different on the 65 and up. Is this correct? Does anyone have any pics of the 65 and up frame mount? Thanks for the replies!

Re: Track Bar Problems

CPP has a bent bar I do believe. Or get the long bar adapter that goes to the trailing arm, better geometry.
