Steering Column Replacement???

I am swapping out my old steering column on my 71 C10 Automatic for a used one I picked up. However the used column has a different a flat harness and the original one has a semi circle harness for the turn signals. I looked on LMC and they only show one which is the semi circle except for the replacement columns which so the flat harness. Can someone educate me on these different harnesses and can I swap the harness out and be good with the used column I picked up.

Sounds as if you may have had the ts switch/harness replaced at some point, or perhaps have a van column. Not a big deal, either buy an adapter (if you can find one, but they are mentioned in the first thread and shown in post #5 of 2nd thread) or buy the correct half-moon harness for the column (turn signal switch and thread it in place of the incorrect one). The latter would be my recommendation. Hope this helps.

Re: Steering Column Replacement???

jocko is correct, you can get an adapter wiring that will match them together.

Re: Steering Column Replacement???

I just did a steering column swap. The one I took out had the adaptor. If you would like it, you can have it for free. Pm me your address and I will ship it for free too. Thanks Wayne
