I'm Lucky...I Hope!
I took in some junk battery's & old copper today & found this in the scrap pile.
I begged them to let me come get it, & I think I have it saved. I won't feel good till its on the trailer. Cab is very clean, no tach... Luckily the scrap yards grapple is having issues or I would have missed it. |

Re: I'm Lucky...I Hope!
Sad thing is I gave my nephew a complete 65 flatbed that size a few years ago and he hauled it to scrap .It was in my inlaws pasture and I had no room for it . It ran when my father in law parked it on his farm.

Re: I'm Lucky...I Hope!
Hopefully you can save that truck. It looks to be in quite good shape. It's hard for me to imagine why someone would scrap a truck that nice.

Good for you. It would be a shame for that to get crushed.

I'm diggin' the grill.....
C-60 grilles are cool, and it looks like it's an aluminum one from where I'm sitting.

Re: I'm Lucky...I Hope!
Well the truck was spared, I get to get what I want from it. I am going to take the cab, front clip & bumper.
They had another oen come in, this one is pretty banged up, but they set it aside for me to get parts off of. The bed has a couple doors in it under the junk in back. They sold it for $90. per ton to the scrap yard. It wasn't to bad till the loader hit it. I'm going to grab the doors, front fender, Radio delete cover & a couple other things. I have to check the windshield... Might grab the seat as it is still pretty decent. |

Re: I'm Lucky...I Hope!
Wow, that one almost looks like it could be saved in the last picture there... Aside from the hood it really doesn't look too awful. Must have been real decent before the loader got in a tangle with it... Kind of a shame, but at least they're letting you pick it over!

Re: I'm Lucky...I Hope!
I'm glad to see you're doing what you can to save these, or at least some parts. It still makes me a bit sick though to see these going to the crusher. That GMC is in much better shape that a lot of the trucks I see around here for sale.
