Western Turbine rims.

I bought my C20 a few weeks ago because it was a pretty screaming deal, and it had new tires in the back of the truck that just needed to be mounted.

Well the rims it has are 4 16.5x8.5 rims Western Turbines, and while I was out getting a big gulp at 7-11. A guy told me those were getting quite hard to find, and how he had to look for 6 months to find his set.

I like the rims a lot, but 16.5's don't come in the sizes I care to run.

Are these rims really worth what they ask on Ebay?

Or can 16.5's be cut down to a 16" size.

Re: Western Turbine rims.

You can pay the $25 member fees and sell them here on the board. There's usually a few members looking for turbine and slot wheels. They can not be cut down.

Re: Western Turbine rims.

Turbines vectors and slots are some of those things that if you want a set you can only find beat up crusty singles or 3 or none at all even though you're willing to pay as much as a new set of Torque Thrusts might cost, and if you have a complete set in good condition you don't want/need you can't find a buyer who will give you more than scrap price!

Re: Western Turbine rims.

Check your local Craigslist...Ebay is horrible for gauging price. In my area, a set of Turbines go for $100-200, depending if they have useable tires or not.

The latter is most likely.

All you have to do is check the sales history on the item

Yea, I've had a set of 6 lug 15x7 turbines at my local speed shop for months and I have yet to have anybody even ask about them.

I just can't see paying that much for wheels you can find on your local Craigslist at 1/10th the price.

Your not gonna find wheels on CL in the same condition as his for 1/10th the price.

If you guys have wheels ask him if he wants to buy them, he has to get them from somewhere right?
