First C10 need help
I just picked up my first C10. 67' chassis and 71' cab. That's all I got. All sheet metal minus hood and stripped frame.
What years interchange with front end? I have engine crossmember. But I need Upper/lower control arms Spindles Brakes Steering EVERYTHiNG! Thanks Brandon Posted via Mobile Device |

Chopped and channeled. Had bags at one point front only is what I was told. I dig it. I feel it needs another chance at life.

do you want drum or disk brakes? drum 67-70 bolt right on. 71-72 would be disk and bolt right on. or 73-87 disk bolt right on. just get everthing from the same year. ball joints and tie rod ends are different for the years posted. just figure out what you want and find a complete from and switch over. no need to swap the member as they are the same. you also have 5 lug(71/72) vs 6 lug(67/70).

Welcome to the forum. I suggest you read this to get an idea of what will work -LINK
In case your not aware, I would look at the cost of getting glass cut before you invest a lot of time in that cab. It can get expensive really quick.

That link has some good information there, and will really help when getting everything together for the front suspension. I agree with N2Trux, that front glass may not be cheap to get, being it is curved. I do think it's unique as you don't see many chopped trucks.

I would go buy the most complete 73-87 C10 or Suburban you can get, and get the one with the 1.25 thick rotors. I know 73-79 were that then I think it became an option afterwards.
That way you can get a engine core, transmission, suspension, wiring that could be adapted if you needed too, and a whole mess of other stuff. In my area I can find them often enough for under $1000 barely running or less the $750 not running, but your generation can be hard to find for that price. Otherwise pick a part is not going to nickle and dime you. Its going to dollar you for all the basics you need. Plus with whats left CL or scrape it to recoup as much as you can. |
