Need weight information on a truck
About how much would a 72 C30 flatbed dually weigh. I have a trailer rated at 7000lbs. My understanding is that the trailer takes up about 2000lbs of that rating leaving me able to haul up to a 5000lbs vehicle. Surely the C30 doesn't weigh quite that much. The flatbed has no bulk head or sideboards. Just the steel framing and wood floor boards.

Re: Need weight information on a truck
Not too sure it will be even close to 5000. Here is a factory curb weight for SRW C30 chassis and cabs. You did not state the wheelbase or the bed length and these will affect the weight.
Several Longhorns I have data book built spec in the 5000 lb range loaded with options. While your truck may have less options the bed, risers and the DRW option itself will add weight. As a data point a big block, A/C and P/S woud add 375 lb. Unfortunately I cannot dig up a firm number at the moment. If there is a question run the trailer over a scale before you pick up the truck to be on the safe side. Also you might have to pull the outers to fit on the trailer and that will give about a 150 lb right there that could go into the tow vehicle.

Re: Need weight information on a truck
Sorry, I meant to put in the wheelbase and forgot. It is a 133", small block, 465 trans, 9 foot bed, A/C, PS. I didn't think it should be that close to 5000# but just wanted to make sure.

Re: Need weight information on a truck
That would put you at 3950 lb plus the bed/riser and the DRW conversion.

Re: Need weight information on a truck
Thanks Tim. I should be okay then. The bed is just the bed itself. No headache rack or sideboards. I might be pushing it but I would just have to be easy. I would be making about a 200 mile trip with it on the trailer.
