WWJD - with a 4.11 open 6 lug coil rear axle?

I posted over in the WIW section but haven't any replies in a couple days.

What would you guys do with a 4.11 open 6 lug coil rear? Drum to drum. It's out of a running driving truck.

Should I save it or scrap it?

Re: WWJD - with a 4.11 open 6 lug coil rear axle?

If you are looking for a specific rear for your truck post an ad on Craigslist and try and trade someone. I have factory 3.73's in my 69 and love them but want a 3.08 so i can cruise without killing my wallet on gas. Lucky for me my buddy bought a 69 with 3.08's and did a bunch of engine work that warrants my gears so we are going to trade.

If anything just post it for free or for a little more than scrap value so someone out there that needs it can get a hold of it.

Someone out there will want it. I would think a 4.11 would be a bit hard to find. Most of these had a 3.08 or 3.73 I think. Ebay it!

Scrap things as a last resort.

Don't scrap it, sell it. You could probably get $400 bucks for it.

Short answer, SAVE IT!!! Long answer, I would save it if I were you! And if you scrap it, dont tell anybody! That would be like telling everybody about the Moped you traded your Hardley for!

4:11's are cool if you have overdrive. Best of both worlds. Stick it in the back of your garage.
