Czer's 72 Long bed
I started this project about two years ago and just now had some time to upload some pictures. This 72 C-10 Pickup belonged to my grandfather who bought it off the lot in 1972. He passed it down to my dad who now passed it down to me. Here are some pics of the truck from when I first got it from my father. He used it as a work truck and was in pretty beat up shape.

Czer's 72 Long bed
After taking it to a friends body shop and finding horrible previous body work I made the decision to take it down to bare metal.

Czer's 72 Long bed
We figured the engine should look as good as the outside so we stripped the engine compartment and started detailing it

Czer's 72 Long bed
Since the bed was off and everything exposed i figured this would be the perfect time to put in some air bags.

Re: Czer's 72 Long bed
I've been painting parts for the engine compartment and started putting stuff back together.
This is how far I have gotten but the rain has delayed me for a few days. I will continue uploading pictures as I finish things up. I still have a long ways to go so please let me know what you guys think and feel free to give me any suggestions. |

Re: Czer's 72 Long bed
Very nice job. It's a PITA to get everything cleaned and painted like that. Lots of patience. Hope to see the truck driving around when I visit down there again. Grew up in Cerritos.

Re: Czer's 72 Long bed
Hey bud, can you fill me in on how you guys repaired this? And how it looks now? I have a little cancer forming on mine in this area, its not to bad yet but needs attacked before it grows more. |

Re: Czer's 72 Long bed
Ok this cracks me up. My neighbors would have the police all over me if I did this in my front yard. One or two would not mind, but the rest of the old biddies would have me locked up. LOL

Re: Czer's 72 Long bed
Unfortunately I dont have any pictures right now. I will try and take some tomorrow. First we had to cut out all the cancer, which we realized was alot once we removed all the paint. We found a hole in the driprail on the roof of the cab so everytime it rained the water would collect in there. Then alot of metal work. Weld, grind, weld, grind, weld...Instead of body filler we used kitty hair in that area and then finished of with bondo.. I would definitely take care of that area before it gets worst. It was a real PITA!

Re: Czer's 72 Long bed
Not crazy about the color since it was not offered back then, but gotta tell you that was some amazing body work and detail!
