Roof rack I picked up on CL

Picked up this roof rack on CL for 50.00. JCI out of California. It,s fully adjustable for any size car. Maybe some wood slats?

Working on the wood slats today using old pine with peeling paint to add a little more patina.

I love the rack but am I the only one that sees the irony of putting a roof rack on a long bed

I was thinking the same thing. I just throw my longboard in the bed but that rack is cool. I still have my old racks off of my 510 wagon !

Re: Roof rack I picked up on CL

66clow, I started looking for vintage roof racks as soon as I saw the one you built for your truck. I haven't decided to do the wood slats or not. Either way roof racks on trucks look cool. Nice ride!

Re: Roof rack I picked up on CL

Well guys here she is today. Motor is getting pulled for a rebuild. Question is should I paint the motor or keep the patina. A clean fresh rebuild almost deserves a good coat of paint. I love the color on this 292.
