Anyone here still have that all original factory look?

I'm thinking of taking my truck back to more of an original factory look. I want it to look like it did back in the 80s. Does anyone have a truck with the original paint scheme? Im thinking of going with a two tone red and white but i want to see what other paint schemes are out there.

Thanks!

Re: Anyone here still have that all original factory look?

Yep, everything I have keeps the factory appearance, in some instances they are still sporting their original born with paint, including my 79 1 ton. I have a passion for unrestored survivor cars and I seemed to carry that over to my pickup truck for some odd reason when I went looking for one.

Custom is nice and I can certainly appreciate the work involved, but for me the stock appearance flips my switch.

By saying original factory look are you also referring to original height meaning no drop kit or lift kit of any size?

Re: Anyone here still have that all original factory look?

Orig everything is what drew me to this truck. Only thing not orig is the radio and the bumper guard. '77 I was told is a unique year that the side trim was painted different colors. I think it is the only year that this occurred.

Re: Anyone here still have that all original factory look?

Correct: '77 is the only year for yellow in the side trim.

Not trying to pic nits or match wits with a long time GM employee, but I think there was "one" exception to that rule. Didn't the 75-76 GMC Gentleman Jim have the yellow (gold) insert too?

Yeah, I went back to change it, but got side tracked. What about the Beau James?

The 77 model was a "transitional" year for our trucks. There were several items that stopped, started, and specific only to the 1977 trucks.

Right - but I was thinking of more "mainstream" offerings.

Sometimes I sacrifice total accuracy for the sake of brevity.
