96 chevy truck keys
Is it the same key for ignition and door locks for these trucks or is it a different key for ignition and door locks.

Re: 96 chevy truck keys
They switched to one key for the '95 model year, so yeah, one key. Is it an original key or does it look like a replacement key with possibly a bad cut? When I bought my '98 Suburban it only came with a single key and it was a very bad cut. You had to wiggle the key to the "just right" spot to get it to turn the ignition. I went to my local dealer with my VIN and had them cut me a couple new factory keys.

If the ignition was replaced it could have two keys.

Re: 96 chevy truck keys
My old 97 Z71 key tumbler got so bad it's hard to get a key cut to work the ignition!
Sometimes have to get a couple keys made and see which one will work both the ignition and doors I owned a Ford that the key tumbler was so wornout..you didn't need a key to start it!! |
