If you feel like removing cover, the teeth can be counted on the ring and pinion gears or look on the ring gear-they usually have the number of ring and pinion teeth stamped into them-just divide the number of ring gear teath by the number of pinion teeth. If you don't want to open the case, just lift both tires off the ground. Put a mark on the rear housing that lines up with a mark on the yoke. Turn one tire exactly one full turn while observing how many turns the pinion turns (with a posi, the opposite tire should turn the same amount and in the same direction). After you have turned the tire one full revolution, note how many times the pinion has turned. If the pinion turned 3 to 3 1/4 turns, it is a 3.07 ratio. If the pinion has turned about 3 3/4 turns, it is a 3.73 ratio. If it turned a little over 4 times, it would be a 4.11 ratio.

Everything is the same for doing a non posi except you leave one tire on the ground so it can't turn. On the tire that you lift off of the ground, turn it TWO full revolutions while noting how many times the pinion has turned. After exactly two full tire revolutions, note how many times the pinion has turned to determine the ratio using the above numbers.

Randy

Randy, I could come over Sunday afternoon and pick up that handle and show you a quick way of getting the ratio (or very close). Busy?

posi

I'm doing so much dealing, I don't know If I'd have room on the trailer for it all. Maybe though. Besides your parts, it's 2 cabs, a stepside box, 2 doors, 2 fenders & maybe a front clip. Anybody between Ks. & Wi. need a frame delivered ???......Zoomy

Boy I would be all over that frame if it was in northwest Iowa. But getting it there would be to expensive for me. Don't suppose that is a delivered price? How far are you from Omaha Nebraska?Would it have tires so a person could dolly it?I can't get flat bed but do have access to 2 wheel dolly trailer. If your ever up this way again let me know.

fit

I guess it'll all fit if you have a way of putting a cab in the box. The stepside box has the fenders removed, so that will be easier to move around. If I get that front clip, that will temporarily bolt onto the front of the frame. Let's do it.........Zoomy. PM me a list of everything I got so far & I'll send some more $$$$
