standard to automatic conversion

Hi guys i am wanting to do a swap for a standard transmission to an automatic
transmission on a 1978 gmc 1 ton 4x4 i know i am going to need a automatic steering column and linkage but what other items do i need to do the conversion like crossmembers and about how long would it take to do this conversion any help would be great thank you so much

about to do this myself. depends on the transmission you get, might need a new and/or relocated crossmember. Driveshaft length may change.

you need the auto crossmember, a trans cooler and lines or new rad with built in cooler. and new drive shafts. i converted my 2wd back in the 90's. it will take the weekend if you have all the parts.
