Fender Flares Pictures

Here's a pic of my 84 chevy with cut out fender flares.




And here is the same truck. The fender flares are doing their job.




Here is my 85 with fender flares. They give it a cleaner look, I feel.

have you done any of the cut-out fenders? i have done a dodge with the pocket style, but i dont know how hard it is to do the cutouts, would be nice to bolt them directly to the pickup.
Are there any pickups with fenders color matched out there?

I was looking on Bushwackers Site and found this picture, its actually very close to the color im painting the pickup i doing. but wonder what everone thinks about color matching the fenders. post your opinion.

I really like both of your pickups, are they both cut outs, or is there one with pocket style.

The 84 I posted above has the cutout fender flares. I just took a cutting wheel to each side and cut off 2 inches, then drilled holes in the fender and bolted it in. It took me about a day.
As for color matching, my 85 I posted above is color matched. These bushwackers take to paint pretty good.

The 84 has cut-out fender flares. The 85 is not the cut out style, just the extend a fender for 88-91 burbans and blazers, so I did not have to mod the fenders at all.

bohmankid, on your 85, the last picture, do you know the paint name or code of the blue on your truck? It looks spot on to mine and the guy I bought it from does not know the code or name. Thanks.

The blue on the 85 is 'Ultra Blue'. It's a very pretty color out in the sunlight. It's also quite expensive, haha.

These are WARN 4xFlares. They’re alright but I plan to probably use Bushwacker or Xenon’s for the Polar Bear Suburban, although I do like the way the WARN flares have a built in mud flap of sorts. The downside to the WARN flares is they are made of hard plastic and warp easy.

Not my rig, but one of the few pics floating around the net of the new Bushwacker non-Cut-Out flares available for old GM rigs. I like the flat lip at the wheel opening as it mimics the stock fenders. It is a tossup between these or the Xenon’s for the Burb. As much as I dig the looks of the Bushwacker Cut-Out flares I don't see the point in cutting up a perfectly clean rust free old truck that is still wearing its OEM sheet metal for the sake of adding a neat looking flare. If I had LMC Taiwanese repop fenders that might be a different story.

Does your 85 have a th400 with a np205? If so does it have a flat crossmember of one with on it two humps? Just curious.

WAT? Did you read the part about these are non-Cut-Out flares. Nowhere in their instructions does it say anything about cutting. These flares are called Extend-A-Fender like the ones Special-K posted but add additional tire coverage over the part number he has. I think these are pretty new flares that just came available the last year or so.

The flares on your '85 are the same WARN 4xFlares that are on my '78....except you have the different front flare for the 81-91 front fender/sidemarker design.

Been busy playing Fender Flare installeroo lately. Figured some pictures might help someone when in the market for flares as flare suppliers don't seem to have decent pictures available for our old trucks. All of these flares were painted with SEM Flexible Bumper Coater paint.

WARN 4x Flares: 1973-1980 Part numbers: Front 29871 – Rear 27996
Source: Summit Racing
Pro: Non-cutout, Easy to install, east to paint, fit nice, inexpensive, built in front mud flap keep rockers clean
Con: Made of hard plastic (can crack easily and will itch the paint off fenders). The built in mudflap at the rear of the front flares cause interference with the front tires under even slight articulation.



WARN 4xFlares: 1981-1991 Part numbers: Front 27993 – Rear 27996

Pro: Non-cutout, Flexible material, easy to paint, only rubs tires under very hard articulation
Con: Expensive, questionable looks (especially on front fenders), Very difficult to install (I’ve had each flare off at least twice to get them to fit right and 4 times on the right front and it has peeled away from the fender AGAIN!). Not sure I would recommend these.


I recently changed tires and wheels on the K10 which the new wider wheels caused major interference with the WARN 4xflares so I changed them to Xenon. The old rear WARN’s got moved to the Suburban then ordered a set for the front to fit the 81-91 slopped nose rigs.

Hope this may help someone that may be in the market for flares….

Non -cut was the best part, it was the other cutting ones i stopped looking at
