55-59 5 Window

Did GM ever make one? This is on Boise Craigslist and it looks like the real deal to me. I've never heard of GM doing one but maybe an aftermarket company?

Re: 55-59 5 Window

They are factory GMC's that were made in the bigger models. I've never seen one in person but have seen a few online. There was one on Ebay a couple years ago in Kansas that I really wanted but never pulled the trigger. In the mean time i NEED that rear glass and dividers!!!!!!! I'd buy you the cab if you'll cut the back out for me!!

Re: 55-59 5 Window

Okay, I'll be the one to say it: it's unique I suppose but it's ugly. NOT cool looking like the 5 window AD trucks are.

Just my $.02. Anyone else?

Just curious, where would you buy replacement glass for these? I know better than to ask about rubber. Steele Rubber Products has EVERYTHING. They must be related to Barbie!!

Re: 55-59 5 Window

As hard-to-find as they are, I'd guess it would be easiest to buy big window glass, cut it into the three pieces and trim it to fit.

Re: 55-59 5 Window

GMC dash, and shape of the transmission cut out makes it look like a COE or LCF cab??? If some one REALLY wants it message me. Its not mine but could help facilitate getting it.

Lcf floors are different. It's just a very large gmc. I'll post a pic of one later tonight. Ill take the glass and dividers for the asking price giving you the gmc dash and can shell for anything you might need? ? Lmk

tempered glass can't be cut, so you would just have to find a truck with good glass or take out the dividers and put in a big back glass

Visited the truck and took pictures, you have a PM. It is pretty rusted out, glass is ok, but top of the windows are gone. The infill piece is spot welded into a big window cab opening then seam sealed. Condensation from between the inner outer roof sections got trapped. Floor was pretty cut up from a transmission and longer engine install at some time.

Rest of the cab is pretty rusted out too, many heavy coats of paint hiding bad stuff....

Would have been a good candidate for a Jimmy V12.

I do remember seeing a GMC Semi from 56 or 57 when I was about 15. Very rusted and in hiding in the woods behind a gravel pit the truck had air brakes, a multi speed rear axle, and an engine that was definitely much larger than the Chevy smallblock in the truck I was building.
