So I have a really common question I know its in the faq section but I Its still not clicking. So..... I cut my bed down and now need to cut the frame. well in the faq section its a bare frame. I dont want to pull the cab and I would love to leave the bed on may not happen but it would be nice. I need pictures and mesurements on how to do so. The rear is cut now I need to know where to cut the center. Its a coil spring truck dont want to move center cross member if possible.

This is not the sort of project to blow through and cut corners. Maybe a cheap car for interim transpo is your best bet.

Re: I know I know but I need help
shorten it in the straight section in front of the trailing arm crossmember. you them have to move the rear cab mounts back as they will move forward the same amount as you remove from the frame

Re: I know I know but I need help
Best section to cut the frame is under the cab forward of the rear cab mounts which get moved.
There are LOTS of threads on this. But this one is very clear on the frame work. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=123624
