anybody have a power rear slider in their square? how much room do they take, any mods to get it in, watertight?, reliable? pic's would be nice. for the amount they are, some real world feedback before i blow the money, the manual slider in my crew does'nt cut it if no ones in the back seat

My freind has one in his truck. Instalked in the early 90s. So 20 yrs should be reliable. Motor is about the same size as a wiper motor that turns a cable to pull the window open or shut

thanks INSIDIOUS '86. i know there rarely in squares, but figured someone on the board had done it. do you know where the motor mounts? i can only find pic's of the window, not the hardware. i have late model seats in my truck so i dont have a lot of room, thats my big concern. i really want to do this as the rear slider is the main component in my air conditioning system

The motor mounts underneath the bilge below the window keeping seat clearance. I will try and get pics

I have installed power sliders in two different trucks. I put one in my 84 GMC SWB truck back 1998 and have not regretted it, to this day. The window is clean and efficient, as well as a lot more solid, than the hand operated sliders that I had prior to putting it in. The second slider I purchased, is now in my 2011 GMC Sierra standard cab truck and it works great, also.

The sliders have a drive motor assembly that is on the end of a cable assembly, that allows the drive to sit on the floor of the cab behind the seats. The drive cable runs down the cab corner behind the passenger seat and it is held in place with some simple clips. All that is needed is a 12 volt source to the switch that you can mount on the dash.
