Re: front clip swap
Chevy or gmc?
Chevy to chevy: fenders, hood, core support, grille, and bumper (signals will now be in grille) Gmc to gmc: grille and metal filler piece above grille and hood. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: front clip swap
It sucks but the only things you can reuse are the inner fenders and hood hinges. If you decide to put the correct bumper on it (67-70) i think the outer brackets are different because of the lights in the 71-72 bumpers but my memory is fuzzy on that .

Re: front clip swap
Gmc has different fenders 69-72 than chevy of those years 68 chevy fenders work for gmc through 72 I can tell u that much also the core support would need swaped or addapted for the four headlights

Re: front clip swap
And 67/68 Chevy hood too?
Since in my case, a '72 GMC has a (for lack of a better term) filler bar above the grill. Thank you very much for the assistance, Bob Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: front clip swap
I was just piggy-backing on the OP question of going from a '71 to 67/68 Chevy. 67ChevyRedneck answered the question for the OP.
I had a question on going from a GMC to a 67/68 Chevy. In my case I am looking at going from a '72 GMC to 67/68 Chevy. 67ChevyRedneck answered the question I had too. Thank you, Bob Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: front clip swap
Yes. You would need a 67/68 slant nose hood from a chevy or gmc. Neither a 69-72 chevy or gmc hood will work with 67/68 chevy grille swap.

Re: front clip swap
Hello,
I have a 72 GMC posted here that I'd like to put a 67/68 C10 front clip on. I have heard that 72 GMC fenders are the same as 67/68 C10 fenders but I noticed it looks like there's a different vertical body crease line towards the front of the fender beside where the grill attaches. Has anyone made this swap and are they certain that the fenders will work? Thanks! |
