Re: dropped axle
i wouldn't go any lower than 4" with a dropped axle. I've heard you can use a 6" if you can find it but require more work on everything else

Re: dropped axle
I have a 3" dropped axle from Sid's on my 1949 chevy 3100. That was the lowest I could go & not have the bottom of the axle hit the road if a tire came off the rim. I also had to mount the tie rod under the steering arms so it would clear the springs. Now it looks & handles much better. Good luck

Re: dropped axle
Www.droppedaxles.com ask fo sid. Read the how to link on the chevy section, it will walk you through it. A truck can be dropped in a day when you have everything in front of you. I bought everything Sid offered including steering and rear blocks. I also have new shackles and full 8 pack leaf packs. I could pull a couple leafs and go lower, but I haul a lot with it too. Here's mine.
