Any chance of getting Coys Wheels Without issue..

I have heard a bunch of stories about them and figured I would ask......Anybody found a "safe" way to order Coys wheels, without the threat of them arbitrarily changing sizes or backspacing on you?

Order through a dealer or what.

Ideas?

Nope.
It's like rolling dice,...

Find a used set and buy a known size and backspace.

Only way I'd know for sure would be to find someone selling a new set they changed their mind on or a used set. Or call and speak with them and make it clear you will reject the shipment and send it back at their cost if they change anything on you...

Re: Any chance of getting Coys Wheels Without issue..

This is news to me, I ordered my set a couple of years ago, They did not have the 17" I was looking for because they were discontinued. But after talking with the guy on the phone for a while he was very up front with me and found a set of 18's that would work just as well. He quoted me the price, as well as the B.S. and over all dimension, and shipping weight. The price was settled on and they came in the mail with no trouble. I would order from them again next time. They never hid the fact that they were out of 17's and they were very helpful.

Re: Any chance of getting Coys Wheels Without issue..

Wrong backspace wheels were just sent to member BucksSS.
He's building a different rearend for his truck to make them work.
It's total bull on Coys part.
But they do it all the time.

There have been tons of members telling stories of getting wheels that were not what they ordered... wrong backspaces seem like an everyday occurrence, plus I have even heard stories of guys getting the wrong size wheel all together.

Re: Any chance of getting Coys Wheels Without issue..

The issue is when Coys is out of wheels.
They have all these orders back up.
Then when they arrive,... they send out what "they have",... even if it's not what you ordered.

Re: Any chance of getting Coys Wheels Without issue..

I ordered mine around the end of March last year and had them in a couple weeks - no problems.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=518829

I did call them directly and recall a shipment was about to arrive so I had to wait an extra week.

Re: Any chance of getting Coys Wheels Without issue..

The story is some people have problems and some people don't. I had terrible experiences with them from charging my credit card 3 times for one order because nobody in their sales department knows what they are doing, too not being told that the wheels in the backspacing I wanted where going to be backordered for 9 months to a year when they told me I would have them in a week when I placed my order, then being forced to go with a different backspace because I already had the front wheels mounted and couldn't send them back. I sold my Coys before my truck is finished because I didn't want that company represented on my truck and will never order from them again. If it was me I would go with a different company like Showwheels or something. They seem to not have any problems.

Where is everyone ordering from that has had a bad experience?
See if there are any commonalities and go from there.

I ordered mine straight from Coys themself. Like I said some people have good experiences and some bad. I myself had a very bad experience and will never buy from them again.

Re: Any chance of getting Coys Wheels Without issue..

I got a set of Coys for my 71. They fit great 15x8 in the front 4.5 bs and 15x10rears, 5.0 bs. I did not have any issues with the center caps on the front. The caps fit fine without spacers. I almost went with the spinners just because of the problems I heard.
I am running a 2/3 drop with 265 50 15 in the front and 275 60 15 in the rear. The front sidewalls look pretty short so I will be replacing these with 255 60 15 when the time comes. Rears just don't fill the wheel wells enough so I plan on a Hoosier Prostreet 29 12.5 15 at some point.

Re: Any chance of getting Coys Wheels Without issue..

Called today and ordered the other 2 -18's (4.5 BS) I needed. Was quoted 7-10 days. Told they were in the warehouse for shipment. These are the chrome C-57's. I found only two sellers besides E-Bay. Tel 801-356-2929, and 303-297-2697 both in different states. I used the first one. I will post any difficulties I have to this post for everyone's info. n concerns.
