454 rebuild question

I'm considering a set of H581CP pistons on my rebuild and was wondering if I had to balance out the crankshaft?

I'm looking to bump this engine up to about 10:1 but wondered if I had to consider a balance on the lower end.

Looking for some thoughts before I get into the tear down. I know what the 581's weight but don't have a clue on the stock flat tops till I dig in.

Thanks all!

Re: 454 rebuild question

hey techsol, Welcome to the board! I think you may get more responses over in the drivetrain section. A mod will probably move this thread for you soon. I have a 454 thats torn apart that I want to rebuild one day. Good luck on your rebuild.
