Patching rust
I am taking a auto body repair class at the local vo tech center. What gauge metal is most appropriate for my 67 GMC to patch small areas of rust with? Teacher said 20 gauge but he wasnt sure if it might need to be 18 for an older GMC truck

X2 Some might say it's 19 gauge but given a choice, use 18.
Take all the guess work out of it and use and old rotted hood for patch work.

Old road signs and a rivet gun. But seriously, old hood or 18 gauge.

And thanks for passing on the "reuse the hood" tip. I'll have to replace my hood anyway, so this can still save a little $$
