6.0 lq4 head gasket question
I'm getting ready to drop in the lq4 into my project but want to take the heads off the engine to inspect the cylinders/pistons.
I went ahead and looked at jets and summit for head gaskets in anticipation and there is no head gaskets for the stock 4.000 bore?? Would a 4.030 (closest I've been able to find) work as well?

You're not wrong. Replace the head bolts as well.
If you're not planning on f/i or n2o OEM bolts are cheap and work fine. |

Re: 6.0 lq4 head gasket question
You might be able to get them cheaper at Texas Speed and they probably have them in stock.
http://www.texas-speed.com/p-205-gm-...er-gasket.aspx http://www.texas-speed.com/p-1697-gm...-per-head.aspx How big a hit do you plan on putting on it? Under 150 and I'd say stock bolts are a-ok. I've seen folks push more down em but that's all I'd recommend.

Re: 6.0 lq4 head gasket question
On the head bolts look into the arp bolts you can get them on ebay and several websites for around 140 bucks but theyre reusable I've had mine for several yrs and havn't had any problems. Check gmpartsdirect for the head gaskets they might be cheaper havn't checked in a long time
