62 Chevy
I'm picking up a 1962 shortbed and the rear of the frame looks like it's gonna take allot to make lay frame. Anybody done one with this style of frame?

Re: 62 Chevy
I know porterbuilt makes parts for the rear of the 60-62 trucks.

Re: 62 Chevy
Yup! Call Nate. I have a 62 with a Porterbuilt front and rear. ...Just buttoning up my rear notch/bridge assembly. It looks stellar and makes my pants a bit tight when I look at it

Re: 62 Chevy
Hey, you asked.
If you dont want to go that route, you could swap out the frame to a 63+ Chevy truck frame. They do not have the x frame and you could use whatever floats you boat. Another option would be to either build a rear kit yourself or go completly bonkers and build your own frame. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 62 Chevy
Bruce, you might be able to get away using that c-notch in the last photo and a fat bar set up form No Limit to movie the axle locators outside of the frame. I would give Robs shop a call and see if they think it might work.

Re: 62 Chevy
Does anyone have any photos of a rear dropmember setup on a 60-62? I don't see anything on Nate's website.

Re: 62 Chevy
He only makes a partial kit for the 60-62 because of the x frame.

Aren't those the ones with torsion bar front suspension?
