Problem with new fuel press regulator

I had a Holley that was leaking internally and replaced it. The thing I noticed with the new one is the arrows that said "in" and "out" on the regulator were opposite but looking internally it's just a series of chambers and both looked identical.

I replaced it a few days ago, truck fired right up and ran for about 15 seconds and then just shut off(obviously no fuel getting to the carb). The weird thing was it shot fuel everywhere from the area of the regulator and by the time I ran around to see where is was coming from it was running from the lines, regulator and frame. It won't start now but there is no fuel leaking either.

I'm not sure what is wrong as I hooked it up identical to the one I pulled. Any thoughts?
