Is Western Chassis the way to go?
I am just looking to do 2.5 drop spindles, 1.5 drop springs, flip kit and may 1" drop shackles if need by. I am looking for a 4/6 drop. 5/7 at the very most. Is there any other manufacturers that I should look at more. Is there a better company to think about. With just what I have listed above should everything locate and the geometry be where it is supposed to be. Also what should I do about shocks. What kind. Would it be better if I get a drop shock or just measure to see what I need and try and find a regular shock. Anything else that I should be considering as far as parts.

Western Chassis, Bell Tech, and McGuaghy are the 3 best brands for lowering kits. Ive used Western 18 years ago and also on my current project. Good quality stuff. As for shocks, stock Id use Monroe. Lowered shocks, KYB, Doesch Tech, Bell Tech, QA1 are all great. Pricing can range quite a bit.

I run Western on my dually and Belltech on my shortbed. No issues with either one. I hear good things about McGuaghy, just no personal experience.

Western has always been a good solid company with quality products, but if you want absolute Cadillac quality, Belltech is the choice, but at a higher price.

Re: Is Western Chassis the way to go?
Thanks guys. I just wanted to make sure that I was going with a good product. I am sure they all ride about the same. As long as it doesn't beat the piss out of me when driving. I know it might be a little rougher than stock though. As far as any additional parts for the truck having the correct geometry am I good to go with just the spindles, springs, and flip kit.

Re: Is Western Chassis the way to go?
A set of shocks and an alignment afterwards should have you in good shape.
Don't under estimate the ride quality. You're using good parts there. Often a newly lowered truck with fresh shocks and alignment will ride better than a stocker did with worn out shocks. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Is Western Chassis the way to go?
Okay I am ordering my drop kit today. 2.5" spindles, 1.5 springs, flip kit and undecided about the 1" drop shackles. I am sure I will have to do this but do I need to go ahead and cut off the bump stops and brackets for front and rear?
