late model a/c into early suburban

Has any anyone done or have information on doing a air conditioning swap from a 88-98 c/k pickup. I have one I am parting out and wondered if it was worth taking the a/c out of it for my '72 suburban.

I am no A/C guy, but the compressor is probably the only thing one could use in a retrofit to an older rig. Maybe a few of the other small parts as well.

I went with the Vintage Air Kit. I know it's pricey but it's so clean and gets rid of all the vacuum doors and cable controls. I have the original A/C components that were removed carefully. PM me if you are interested as I was going to list them in the parts for sale section.

I put in Classic Auto Air. It works ok, but on hot days it doesn't keep up. I was thinking about swapping out for a late model a/c unit and add rear a/c. I have another project I could use the Classic Auto Air in. Just need something bigger for the 'burb.

Drew put a modern AC unit in his Frankinstien, so you could probably do it. Holes will need to be modified, the housing too. And if the AC don't fit, you can always a quit. Cardboard mock ups could save you a lot of time and less metal hacking. Of course as you remove the newer unit, compare the firewall holes, space under the dash, and things like that. You may lose the vent door, you may loose all or most of the glove box. And take pictures. Lots of picture.... for us of course.
