1 ton rears
Does any body know if 3/4 Ton front suspension will work with a 1 Ton front? I have heard one tons have higher purches than 3/4 tons my main concern is will it sit level and are the u joints the same?

Re: 1 ton rears
Is this for your '85 High Sierra? Yes,the suspension will work,bolt-in job. The Dana 60 (1t) front axle housing is larger than the 10-bolt (1/2-3/4t) and makes the same truck sit up an inch higher. The u-joints are larger and you can either use conversion u-joints,get the bigger yoke made onto your driveshaft,or use a K/30 driveshaft

Re: 1 ton rears
Yes it's for the high sierra, I want to get something a little bigger because the 3/4 Ton front looks about the same as a 1/2 ton Jason on blue hill told me the purches were taller on 1 tons so I wanted to ask about the driveshafts and suspension. It has the heavy duty 3/4 Ton in the rear, I think is about the same as a 1 ton rear right? Thanks for the help

Re: 1 ton rears
You should have a 14 bolt full floater in the rear and if it has 13" drums then it is basically the same as one out of a 1 ton swr. The only difference is the 1 tons rear spring perches (and hangers on the frame) are a few inches narrower.

One ton spring hangers are narrower than 3/4 tons.
