67 C-10 shortwide project "10 Pass 2"

Well gang this is one of my first posts on the site and I hope you all like what we're planning to do with my 67 short box... I named it "10 Pass 2" because it seemed I was up past 2am over the last few months working the concept and some of the unseen things that will be playing into this build that will help me pass one or two of those Pro-touring cars out there.....

Welcome and I really like the hood. I hope you don't mind but it gives me a idea. A little different than yours but in the same ball park. The truck looks great. I love the stance.

Re: 67 C-10 shortwide project "10 Pass 2"

Well it's been a busy time and we're collecting up all the bits and pieces of the build as we go....

Since my last post I have driven from Toronto to Nashville, then to Kansas and back to Toronto. This trip among other things helped bring the c-10 out to the Metal fabricators shop for the new frame we will manufacture. The whole idea revolves around being able to purchase a c-10, a c-5 roller and our new frame that your average garage guy can migrate the c-5 cradles front and back across too.... This would provide a very well balanced mid entry level independent rear suspension platform for a Pro-touring ride that owners could reasonably expect to build for about $30,000.

While $30,000 is no small sum, in Pro-touring circles this would be considered a mid entry level build and quite attractive to that circle. It also allows the owner to have a vehicle that is more flexible than most Pro-touring rides in that it is still a pickup and handy as such...

Re: 67 C-10 shortwide project "10 Pass 2"

Some picks of the Ram Air hood mold being built for the project that I thought you might enjoy seeing progress...
They are multi-piece molds that allow flexibility and options for the final product that is pulled from them (ie Ram air or plain hood as an example)...

Sorry we don't produce a cowl for the C-10 line up and don't have any plans to do so at this point so far as these trucks have lots of clearance as is.....

Re: 67 C-10 shortwide project "10 Pass 2"

The hoods are in production and we are offering a stock style and the Ram Air Style hoods at this point... Rob McGregor ran the first hood out of the mold this past weekend at Good Guys Columbus show..
The new hoods weigh approximately 26LBS in street weight & trim. Rob ran a full 1/2 second quicker immediately after placing the hood on the truck this weekend on the auto cross....
