Custom C-10 Project

Hello All,

This is my first post to a truck forum so i guess i will jump right into it! I have been working on this 70' c10 for about 5 years and it has been quite the adventure to say the least. It has been far more expensive than i ever thought it would be, and much more complicated. I decided to do a body off rebuid for my first project...

Here are some pictures of my latest accomplishment!! My custom dashbaord...

It still needs some work but I'm happy with it!!

Re: Custom C-10 Project

The seats are actually second row seats out of a Toyota mini van... or so i was told... I got them from a guy here in Phonex who does handicap conversion on vans.

Here is his link..

Re: Custom C-10 Project

I just wanted a super clean look inside, and saw a truck at a Goodguys show down here that was similar and decided to run with it. I will have no glove box. i plan to have an
A/C unit behind the glove box and figured the center counsel will be my glove box.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Custom C-10 Project

yeah, there are some other things i have planned... I shaved the firewall and built a custom speaker box so far(no sub holes cut yet). I plan on building a custom center console and putting AC vents and a fold up DVD/Navigation system in the dash still. Once i get it running again i want to shave the door handles and do power locks and windows, but that will be after I am rolling again...

Here are a few other pics.

Re: Custom C-10 Project

I have considered buying a set of these seats for over a year now. They are really nice, I just have not been sure I wanted them. After seeing them in your truck I am again considering buying a set.

Re: Custom C-10 Project

I love the seats they came out great and were very easy to I stall. My only complaint about them is they are a little taller than the stock seats so if you any taller than about 6' or 6'1" you might be hitting your head on the roof.

The dash turned out to be easier than expected. I used fleece fabric from the local fabric store and just stretched it tight over the dash using binder clips and sheet metal screws then just painted on fiberglass resin. The second pic of my first post is how that turned out. Then BondO and a top layer of real fiberglass for strength and it was pretty much done. More body filler and sanding to get finish right...
