Fuel tank saddles?

Where can I buy saddles for both 16 gallon tanks for my short bed? I am going to buy new Dorman tanks from summit and need new saddles as well. I am hoping to get by with my old straps. Hopefully I can reuse the sending units from the old tanks too. Also is there a good place to buy the parts that changes the tanks from one side to the other. Can't think of the names off hand right now.

Re: Fuel tank saddles?

I think I found a fuel tank selector valve at the parts store but is there another part there next to it. I don't have the bed off yet to see.

Thanks I will look into that. My tanks are about $100 each and will try to re-use my senders. I am also putting in a new tank selector valve and switch from delco. I am trying to put everything new back on the truck as it gets rebuilt.

Re: Fuel tank saddles?

thinking back to when i did my tanks, no matter where you get your mounts, they dont have the mounting bolt nuts welded to the brackets like the stock ones. unless you have 5mm fingers, you'll probably want to weld nuts on your new ones

X2 on the valve. If it works keep it. New is not better.

Re: Fuel tank saddles?

The valve never did work is the only reason for replacement. Although I am beginning to second guess buying it and the second tank. I never used the second tank before.
