Mirrors?

I am looking for help on what kind of exterior windows I should get. I like old-school, and like chrome. If anyone has any links to any different mirrors, that would be helpful. Bought my pickup without, it is a 1970 Chevy C10 I don't have it with me yet. I live in Canada, and it is at my place in Montana. I don't have any good pictures, but I'll post one if it works. How do I do that? And thank you, and this website is awesome for information!

This is what I have. I just bought them from www.brotherstrucks.com. Be warned that the acorn nuts and washers will probably rust within a month, and you'll need to find some stainless ones. Anyway, it's hard to see out of them too, and they vibrate on the highway, but oddly I still like them.

I noticed an error on that thread. They say the round mirrors are for 70-72, but they are actually for 67-69

yeah special-k corrected me a few posts down. I was hoping it would turn more into a faq, but I didn't get as much info as I wanted. I suppose I could compile it as is, but I wanted some more concrete opinions on it.

It would probably be a matter of just putting special-k's dates underneath the pics already posted, but I was hoping to have some idea of different models too not just years

These should get everyone started and either answer questions or generate more specific questions. The RPO codes and descriptions changed some over the years and between plants.

To answer the op's question the stock square head mirrors are correct base equipment for a 70 C10 but they tend to vibrate. The later 71-72 DG6 aka Sport Mirrors are a popular addition. If you do anything with a trailer (or actually like seeing behind you) the stainless DG4 are a good compromise mirror. But if you need them the DF2 camper mirrors will see around anything legal.

Busy.... Actually most of this is recycled from earlier posts of mine.
Glad this helps. It is of course not all inclusive but it is a fair outline. Plus there were a lot of aftermarket and accessory mirrors too.

I need one of these on my passenger side. Is the door marked on the inside in any way? Basically How do you know where to drill?

I believe they came from the factory with the holes already drilled, and the mirrors installed. If yours doesn't have the holes, someone likely did some body work and covered the holes. So, your best bet is to look at my pics and others, then hold the mirror arm in place, and use a marker to mark the spots through the holes and then drill them

Where do the shorter arms come from? I've seen long and short ones, but from the pics it looks like they're all long style? Is that for the 60-66 trucks? I'm guessing the shorter arms vibrate less.

The arms I have are the stock length for 67-69. If you see something shorter on a 67-69, they were probably cut.

Yeah,I've wondered what those came on or where they came from,too. I think they'd be cool on my li'l '67 project. I considered experimenting with cutting and closing the end and hope they came out looking right,if I can't find the original ones.

Okay, so I decided on the rectangle chrome mirrors, any suggestions on where to buy? I also need to drill holes too, as the body was completely restored. I need the complete mounting set, with screws/bolts and everything. Thanks for all the replies
