Speedometer Problems

Truck Information:
1989 Chevy 2500, 350 motor, 5 speed, ext cab, 4x4, tilt steering, flatbed (Bradford I think), cruise, wiper delay, 30 gallon gas tank

Problem:
A couple of weeks ago the speedometer quit working. I also had my parking light fuse go out within the same time frame (I wasn't looking at my speedometer when my parking lights went out, but a couple minutes later when I checked my speed it wasn't working)

So I noticed the check engine code is 24, not getting speed from VSS. I checked it and it seemed fine, but I went ahead and got a new one just to be safe. Speedometer still didn't work. So then I went through 2 different speedometer gauge sets I had in my garage (from previous problem trying to get a good odometer) and the speedometer in all the different gauge sets don't work.

I have tried to clean the contacts on the sensor and gauge cluster, but I am thinking I might need to trace the wires and look for a broken wire. Does anyone have knowledge where the wire routes in the pickup? Or if I should try anything else?

Thanks
Blake
