What plugs should I be using?
Any advice will be appreciated
Gap? 69 292 with HEI 1 bbl carb Thanks Tom

my service manual "1970" says, standard plug #ac-r44t /gap.035.thats for a 292ci/165hp

With HEI, open up the gap to .045 on the AC-R44T plugs. Good luck
Almost forgot, make sure your current plugs are the tapered seat design. The R44T's have a tapered seat. Since your motor is a '69 model, it may have washer seat spark plugs. To tell just take out a plug, and if it has a washer on it, you have a washer seat plug. Either way, keep the gap at .045".
