Re: Camaro subframe
No, they don't have the subframes like the first and second generation Camaros do. I should clarify that as the third generation Camaros use struts rather than upper A arms.
To me the rear steer First generation Camaro or the 68/72 Nova subframes tend to work the best under AD trucks because they are a bit narrower and you can run the stock core support. You still have to trim the inner fenders to clear the A frames but you don't have to hack them up as much as you do with a front steer subframe. The second generation Camaros and Firebirds have a wider track that gets the tires out real close to the fenders on AD trucks and limits what rims and tires you can run. You also have to engineer a new core support along with doing a serous amount of modifying and cutting on the inner fenders and pan behind the grill. MY truck had a first generation Camaro subframe under it in the photos that it is red in. It sat low and handled great and really did great on the road on trips to Texas and Utah. I'm going with an aftermarket MII crossmember and tube A arms this time but If I hadn't already bought them I would go with a Jag XJ6 front crossmember as I think it would give a guy great ride and handling for the price.
