Porterbuilt older style hood hinge brackets?

I am looking for a set of these Porterbuilt hood hinge relocation brackets. I thought someone may have a set after upgrading to his newer style hood hinges. I posted here figuring guys may frequent this section more than the parts board?

Re: Porterbuilt older style hood hinge brackets?

I talked to dave at porterbuilt about the very same thing and he said they are gonna start making them again, but said something about the schematics being on a frozen hard drive that needs unlocked. I like those better also compared to the cowl hinge

Nate told me he spent enough time looking for the files and does not plan to offer them in the future. That's why I'm trying the forums now.

What's wrong with the cowl mount hinges?

Dont imagine that it would be that hard to recreate if you can find a set to remeasure. I was gonna attempt it myself. The cowl hinges are a poor design in my opinion. You gotta take a hood propwith you everywhere you go

Nothing if you want to cut up the cowl and weld to the hood, but I want to run tubular bracing from the front of these out and down to my front frame horns and then add a cross brace, all of which will bolt in and be removeable. I can make my own if I have to, but the Porterbuilt ones are nice and thought I may luck out and find a set.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Hopefully, someone that already has a set can supply/offer up dimensions (since the original mfr has no intention of offering these again because they're out-dated).

Re: Porterbuilt older style hood hinge brackets?

They were on Dino's crew cab when it was still a single cab.
His panel may also have them.
Seems like Dino swapped them to a set of cowl mounted PB hinges.
You might pm Dino.

Re: Porterbuilt older style hood hinge brackets?

I guess I don't see why these would be needed...
Why would you remove the original hood hinges?

No OE inner fenders = no OE hood hinges unless there's something to bolt them to @ the firewall (that's what these pieces are).

I could probably make some up as long as Nate was OK with it. Would need some basic measurements though.

Thanks.

Re: Porterbuilt older style hood hinge brackets?

I ended up getting a new set from another member who didn't use them because he ordered the newer Porterbuilt hinges.

Re: Porterbuilt older style hood hinge brackets?

The only critical dimensions are for the hood mounting hole locations and the holes that they mount to on the firewall and how they relate to each other, which are all the same measurements as your stock inners so you should be able to get those from your stock ones. If there is something specific in addition to those measurements you need, let me know what dimensions you need.
