LMC Door Panels
I was perusing through craigslist today and saw some new never used LMC door panels and noticed that there wasn't any holes for window cranks or window switches for that matter. I've never seen aftermarket door panels in person nor do I remember the LMC catalog denoting the difference between manual and power door panels. So is this typical where you basically buy a blank slate and cut whatever holes you need in them? Also what are your guys opinions of the quality of the aftermarket panels?

Re: LMC Door Panels
I've got lmc panels and they had manual window hiles ore drilled. I've ordered 8 things from lmc and i've regretted all 8. My inner fenders are POS the headlight switch lasted 2 days and the panels were warped. I'd rather do without then get anything from there. But that's my (and seems like lots if others o here) experience.

Re: LMC Door Panels
I just installed a set , had to drill for manual windows ( which both are marked on back )
what I didn't care for is they are made from ABS plastic . VERY cheaply made . My $.02

Re: LMC Door Panels
Anyone have an opinion of the keystone doors? I picked up 2 new ones for 50 bucks each a while back just cause they were a good deal. Haven't had a chance to unbox them

Re: LMC Door Panels
Used them on the '73, in-expensive and local. I don't imagine they are any worse or better than LMC. Most places do buy from the same supplier.
(name brand toilet paper from Wal-Mart is no different than the same brand from the local grocery store) brothers69c-10, I haven't used the aftermarket door panels, but I think I'd prefer to drill my own. Plus I would think un-drilled would fit a much wider range of trucks.

Re: LMC Door Panels
Thanks for the input guys, may just try and salvage the original ones then. Was trying to avoid bondoing my door panels to fill in the gouges.

Re: LMC Door Panels
I just installed the LMC ones this weekend..Drilled the holes for the cranks which were marked on the back. They are a harder plastic then the originals. I think in work truck they might get broken. But for a cruiser I think they should hold up just fine. They look pretty darn fancy too...LOL
I also put some insulation in off of a dishwasher that I had to replace. Can't wait to see if it makes any difference at all. |
