Unhappy Its Broken!!!

Comming back in from manhatan and just before my turn to the house BANG! The rearend decides to let go. I think it shered off the pinion teeth. Now I have a good reason to put the new ring and pinion in. The only thing that sucks is I have to pay someone to do it. We'll I guess I just shot about 300 if I can save the carrier. I guess the brute force possi was to much for the gear. At least the old girl got me 99% of the way home and didn't leave me stranded somewere.

The unit was in when we bought the truck. It's probably got 2000 miles on it but I think it was set up rong to begin with. The gears are suposidly brand new but once again I'm relying on someone elses word. I started to notice a vibration last tme I drove it so it was probably eating itself up little by little.

The Results: 1 spider gear broke in two, 1 pivot shaft bent, 1 pivot shaft lock bolt looks like a pretzel, 4 springs bent, 2 spring plates broke in PIECES, And probably a ruined carrier because when the pivot shaft came loose it came out collided with the pinion gear bent at about a 45 degree angle and wollowed out the hole for the shaft. The gears still look good but everything else I think is TOAST. The pop I heard was the spider gear that broke trying to come out of the case.
